SAN ANTONIO – Buying a jersey is a special day for any team fan. A Spurs fan decided to shoot by buying a Spurs shirt and came home with something very special.
Friday, Monique Dillard was determined to buy a Dejounte Murray jersey. The only unanswered question was, how much? She took to Twitter to weigh others down and tagged Murray in the tweet.
“Decisions Decisions … at the spurs shop and debate to get one @DejounteMurray Swimsuits or two. If I ever meet him and get him to sign my jersey, I won’t want to wear it anymore lol. “
This tweet was sent at 1:10 pm Dejounte Murray responded an hour later, asking for Monique’s location and saying he would meet with her to sign his new purchase.
Monique replied that she had just left the AT&T center, but would meet Murray “anywhere” to get his jersey signed.
The public dialogue between the two ends there, but at 3:38 p.m. Monique shared a photo of her and Murray – and an autographed jersey.
“Man what a day! @DejounteMurray are alone !!! Thanks again! ”Murray also took the time to take a photo with Monique’s daughter, Nevaeh.
Monique told KENS 5 that Murray is “really a class number. I was completely surprised by his response and the fact that he took the time to do it was more than awesome.”
Spurs Twitter responded to his post, noting Murray’s generosity in taking the time to make a Silver and Black Fan Day.
