Tar Heels in pursuit of JP Tokoto’s brother Seth Trimble

Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program are in pursuit of JP Tokoto’s brother Seth Trimble.

North Carolina first-year head coach Hubert Davis has just completed his first term heading into 2022, and he’s working hard to add a second. With more than a dozen scholarship offers currently available to high school students and the NCAA’s one-year time-out now over, he hopes to do so in the near future.

One of the prospects Davis and his coaching staff are focused on is Seth Trimble, a 4-star point guard from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, who is ranked among the top prospects in his state. Trimble, brother of former Tar Heel JP Tokoto and aspiring student at Menomonee Falls High School, has become an increasingly popular prospect on the recruiting trail.

He has already received scholarship offers from over a dozen schools, including Arizona State, Creighton, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, USC and Wisconsin. It has also piqued the interest of Marquette and Virginia, among others, and its offer sheet will only grow in the coming months.

The 6-3, 185-pound senior goalie is only 77th in the 247Sports Composite, but I expect that ranking to improve over the next few months. Likewise, Trimble has seen its ranking improve from No.109 to No.35 in the latest Rivals150 rankings. Now, approaching 5-star status entering the summer before his final year of high school, Trimble is making visits to the college and speaking to coaches in preparation for an engagement that could arrive as early as August.

The Tar Heels, in particular, have prioritized the Wisconsin native, which was highlighted in a recent interview with Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.

“UNC was also heavier on me,” Trimble said. “I often talk to Coach Fred and Coach Hubert. I love talking to Coach Hubert, he’s a very down to earth guy and super easy to talk to. I am also visiting the UNC soon and am also excited about it. UNC has a very good guarding history, and I think Coach Hubert will continue to do so.

With a visit to Chapel Hill on the horizon and the Tar Heels stepping up efforts to get him to wear a Carolina uniform next season, Trimble’s recruiting is really ramping up in the home stretch.
